Tours of the Tom Otterness Studio in Gowanus were offered as part of 2010 Openhousenewyork. Tom Otterness (b. 1952 in Wichita, Kansas) is an American sculptor primarily known as a public artist whose works adorn parks, plazas, subway stations, libraries, courthouses and museums in New York---most notably in Rockefeller Park in Battery Park City and in the 14th Street/8th Avenue subway station---and other cities around the world.
Open House New York weekend, America's largest architect and design event, opens doors throughout New York City each October.
