Alabama — U. S. Army Corps of Engineers' (USACE) contractors stack vegetation debris at the Kicker St. Temporary Disposal and Reduction Site (TDRS) in Tuscaloosa, Ala., May 14, 2011. USACE ensures that the disposal of debris created by the tornadoes that struck Alabama on April 27 complies with environmental regulations. Crews separate vegetation (shown here) from building debris, household appliances, electronics and hazardous material such as paint, cleaners, and propane canisters.
